Funding for Red-throated Finch and Arriga Plains Water and Soil testing
Mitchell River was successful in securing two grants through the Northern Gulf Resource Management Group's 2017 Community Small Grants Program. The projects will help conserve habitat for the endangered White-bellied Crimson Finch near Kowanyama, and advance water and soil quality testing in the Arriga Plains district of the Mareeba-Dimbulah Irrigation Area.

Kosters curse Coordination
We are acting in the leadership role to co-ordinate action to control and reduce the Koster's curse infestation centred at Julatten.
Preventing the Spread of Tilapia and Exclusion Screens on the Walsh Irrigation Channel
We have been active in lobbying for Tilapia exclusion screens to slow the spread fo this pest fish down the catchment.
Bellyache Bush Control and Weed Signage
A Queensland government Everyone’s Environment enabled us to carry out weed control projects in the catchment, especially the mapping and control of bellyache bush on the Palmer and Walsh Rivers.
Grazier and Land Holder Networking Workshops
A Community Landcare Grant funded a series of four land management workshops with Traditional Owners, graziers and other land managers throughout the catchment.
